This guide is to demonstrate the setup of customer or supplier accounts and how the account code is defined. It is not possible in Safe Financials to define a prefix, however, this guide will assist in showing how users can work around this and how to define the length of the code.

There are two sections in this article:
To define the Account Code length.
To add a new Customer or Supplier Account Code and define a prefix.
Define the Account Code length
Launch Safe Financials then from the Toolbar, click System Admin.
Click Setup then click Setup.
Select Company Details then click the Sales or Purchase tab.
Click the Main tab then enter a Customer or Supplier Account Code Length.
Click Apply to save changes.
Add a new Customer or Supplier Account Code and define a prefix
Launch Safe Financials then from the Toolbar, click Sales or Purchase Ledger.
Click Customers or Suppliers.
In the top half of the window, right-click and select Modify Record.
Right-click and select Create Record. If no prefix is required, go to step 7.
To add a prefix, in the Account field, enter the desired prefix, e.g. 'ER'.
Press the Tab key to tab off the field. The Account code then generates the following sequential numbers to the prefix e.g. 'ER1234'.
Enter the details applicable then click Apply.
