Create a new company

Follow these steps to create a new company in Safe Financials.

  1. Open the Safe Financials toolbar.

  2. Click **System Setup**.

  3. Select Company Details.

  4. Right Mouse Click and Select Setup Company.

  5. Park in the field Target Company and manually enter the new code to use for the new company.

  6. In the Copy What section select the tables to copy to the new company by setting the drop-down menu to Yes.

  7. Set Company Configuration Tables to Yes to copy all parameters from within Company Details.

  8. The **Thread Settings** drop-down should be set to **No** (unless using thread settings, in which case set to Company).

  9. Click **Load** when you're happy with the options selected. 📌 **Note:** This creates the new company immediately — there is no confirmation prompt.

  10. Click Cancel to return to the previous screen.

  11. The new company will be created, shown in the Company List and given the name Name not yet entered.

Double-check all setup items before entering transactional data. We recommend copying user security only after the company has been created. Safe Financials has a function to remove unwanted companies, but this is chargeable and only applies to companies with no transactional data. From the System Admin toolbar, click the Setup icon to complete the following checks:

  1. **Select Company Details** — all tabs must be reviewed and fields populated. Some sites prefer a different colour for different companies.

  2. Document Distribution Defaults will not be populated for e-mail distribution of certain document types.

  3. Path Names will not be defined.

  4. System Admin toolbar > User Set Up Icon - User Properties will not be copied such as POP and authorisation values.

  5. System Admin toolbar > Printer Set up - Stationary Groups check the Address Details are correct.

  6. System Admin toolbar > Scheduler > Task Scheduler - Tasks will need to be added to the required processes to run

  7. System Admin toolbar > External Interfaces - External Interface Controls will need to be defined if required.

  8. Cash Manager toolbar > Cash Manager - Cash Manager Accounts will not be created it is strongly recommended that these are created and populated in company details.

  9. Nominal Ledger toolbar > Trading Partners - Supplier and Customer details are not copied these will have to be either created manually or imported.
