KOFAX - Error - 'Root Element is missing'

If you have suspended a batch and then attempted to load another transaction or batch and you receive the error - 'Root Element is Missing'


Then you have a lock on the SEM File which sits against your user. Typically, this lock will clear itself and not occur again, however, if you experience the lock each time you suspend a batch then your SEM file may be the problem.

To resolve this issue, a member of support can delete your SEM file. Therefore please contact us and reference the title of this article and please include details and the user affected.

Sometimes however, clearing the SEM file will not assist in resolving this issue. The cause of this appears to be an XML configuration file for the KOFAX program which cannot be written to and contains no data. To resolve this your config file will need to be updated by support
